Agripunica, winemaker from Sardinia
Agricola Punica: A Renowned Wine Producer in Sardinia
Collaboration of Experts in Winemaking
Considered to be one of the most renowned names in the production of exceptional wines, Agripunica or Agricola Punica was born out of a collaboration between Santadi, the Carignan specialist in Sardinia and the Tenuta San Guido (Sassicaia) and Giacomo Tachis, the oenological ‘father’ of Sassicaia and other famous wines of Tuscany.
Vineyard Locations and Production Details
Located in the south-west of Sardinia, Agricola Punica is made up of two areas: Barrua and Narcao, 75 and 270 acres respectively, located not far from Santadi in southern Sulcis. 150 acres are currently in production for the famous Barrua, of which 25 acres are old Carignan and 125 are younger Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The soils of the estate are mainly made up of clay mixed with sand.
